Voice of experience, it's even more specific than that, I have a 1981 308 GTSi all numbers match verified by Ferrari and I used the 1981 308 GTSi parts that I got when I bought the car, to get parts for future.

When I tried to replace the sender for speedometer, I need one that looks like a chess piece.

The clutch cable was the wrong also.

I finally got the correct book for my 81 308 GTSi and ordered the correct parts for car.
