Hey Friends,

I have a little news. The Roadster Factory  is having a big sale (through November 26th) - including Spitfire parts, George! They support Triumph but not MG - but I also have a Triumph! Anyway, I discovered that their Robbins convertible tops are on sale, along with a bunch of other stuff - so I bought a new tan top for my black TR3b. HALF PRICE! I also bought new windows for the car's side curtains, at better than HALF PRICE!

I will reupholster the seats and panels in light tan. They're black and a bit ugly now, but they are undamaged. New tan vinyl will make them nice. I'll have the seats reupholstered locally first, then match the panel vinyl to that color. The tan interior will be a little cooler than black. Also, classic.

I have enough brown carpet leftover from restoring the Volvo, to reupholster the Triumph. It should look nice with the tan seats and panels.

The new window plastic will go in the car's sidecurtains. They are currently black vinyl and like the panels, they are ugly but undamaged. If the color of my stock of leftover tan vinyl paint matches the new top I'll just primer and paint the sidecurtains. If I have enough Leatherique dye left over after restoring the MG's side curtains, and if it matches, I will spray the black vinyl with tan plastic primer, then spray on George's 'dye'. Failing a color match in either of those cases, I'll send a swatch to George and have a pint of custom color dye mixed.

The bottom line is that my black/black. TR3b, with beautiful paint, no top, and a hot, drab interior, is becoming a black/tan TR3b with a tan top and a beautiful tan interior. All on sale.
