Hi Gang,

Thanks for all the awesome stories! As I remember it CG, Deep, Matt, et al.; Joe synced the carbs on my 308GTB, then under Ric Rainbolt's ownership. He did it over at that Alfa guy's house, the guy with the black Zigatto Junior. I remember being there in the Mondial QV because it wouldn't start. Remember that pesky intermittent starter, Matt? My Testarossa did the same thing until I put a relay at the starter motor.

When I bought the 308GTB back from Ric, it still had the outline of the Hallett car number on the hood! The paint all around the number was crazed by the Texas sun, but the ' 8 ', I believe it was, was still glossy.

All I remember about CG's Testarossa is seeing a video taken on track with the stereo playing and A/C blowing, as the car exited 'The Bitch'. That's doing a track day in style! Well, one other thing. A particular red head exited the TR's driver's seat, face and hair dripping wet with sweat, and growled, "Gawd that's GREAT!"

I also remember that Wendy's lap times were quicker than Ric's, in the same car.

My lap times were aweful. That's when I learned that I am SLOW. I realized that my so-called style was to 'observe and study' rather than 'react'. Today, I build cars and leave the driving to those more capable.

How many of you here now, went on the Factory tour that we organized in 1999 (or was it 1998)? Tony Nevotti at FoH arranged admission for us. Tony had a terrible tragedy in his life and left the Ferrari community for a number of years.  He is back at FoH now. I've talked with him but haven't visited. Read: FoH quoted $16,500 to service my Testarossa. I will do it myself. After all, Rainbolt and I built that motor.

So am I having a Happy 65th Birthday today? Yes I am. I just took a successful test drive in my 1962 Triumph TR3b. Add to that, all your awesome stories, and I am pleased.
