You have more money than God.
You have a super sexy girlfriend that probably won't be a wife someday but is good enough to stick around..."for show".
You buy a car for her to use but is owned by you.
Optional:
Girl could be a wife (not advised).
You could have less money than God (not advised but still done by a good amount of men)

I don't actually understand what that means but then you guys live in a different culture and society than I do. The only trophy I get is a pay check after a hard days work. I would say when I can get together £160k and I am going to get a new car a California would do everything I want to do in a car ( and I don't have a wife ) .RegardsBritt

Everybody is tripping over themselves to get into a 488 NOW. I wouldn't be surprised if the lead time on a regular F12 is also quick too.
The options is where the factory makes their profit. It's atrocious what they charge for some of the items. Kudos to your friend for skipping all of the carbon trinkets.
I drove a California when they first came out. I like the car as it's a great all-rounder. Performance on the STREET is mind-blowing, the comfort of a hard-top when you need it and still a proper convertible. Roomy, comfortable. The latest styling is the best out of the series.

Subject: [Ferrari] Lead time on a new Ferrari
Hi guys,
Thought you may find this interesting. Some good friends of mine here in the Midlands who are long term members of the FOC and the area group I run were looking for another Ferrari. They race a 308 and use to race a 355 in the club hill climb championship so they know their cars and know how to drive. Since they own everything from the Ferraris to a Triumph TR8, a Macan and a special you would never have heard of, they were thinking "Grand Tourer" and "California". Now if you haven't driven a California, it really is a great practical GT and really is fast as hell. Wanting something new they were looking for a 2-3 year old California at the Ferrari Dealership in Birmingham (Greypauls). Brian actually wanted a base car with just shields and adjustable suspension but all the used cars at Greypauls were loaded with tons of options £30,000 wasn't unusual. Brian found the asking prices for these cars much to high and the salesman at Greypaul asked if they had considered a new Ferrrai?
Well who wouldn't like to own a factory new Ferrari just once in your life? Basically Brian ordered a new California and was quoted an 8 week delivery time. It arrived this week right on time. The car is a base California with only the two options plus constructing seat stitching. The cost of the new car was far less than the used models loaded with carbon fibre at the same dealer.
Obviously this is a RHD UK market car but I was surprised the lead time was less than for the new 5 series I ordered from BMW (10 weeks)! The lead time for the 488 is still 2+ years here in the UK for what it's worth.....
At our next FOC meeting we will toast Brian's new California. I suspect it will do around 10k per year despite all the other cars he owns. For travels to Le Mans and the Continent it's going to be a great option.....
Regards
BR in the UK
