Concours should loosen up these requirements.

I get the originality aspect (although slightly yawn inducing, admittedly), but now you're encouraging 30 and 40 year old tire use on these cars and owners can't separate the two more often than not.

Interesting idea but most owners of classic cars want the originals for a concours. If these new-old releases meet the criteria for concours judging then that is great.

If they don't, I'm not sure what will be accomplished.

There are plenty of new tires that fit the old cars within reason. The Michelin TB series and Pirelly P7 Corsa Classic already fill the need for a modern tire in the classic sizes.

It could be a good revenue opportunity though.

Subject: [Ferrari] [NFC] Porsche news which could benefit some classic Ferrari owners

The early Porsches tended to use small-ish sized tires, but maybe the '70s/'80s era Ferraris could benefit (?).

If there's one thing I hate, is when guys put enormous wheels on older cars. It looks so out-of-character:

Porsche teams up with Pirelli to design modern tires with vintage look for classic models.
