I'm not close to the situation but it seems to me the "Brexit is the end of Britain" talk is far overhyped.

Revenge by the EU on trade?  Doesn't Britain buy more from the rest of the EU than it sells?  If so, revenge would be cutting off the EU nose to spite its face.

If the EU wants to make it more expensive to buy VWs, BMWs, Mercedes and Fiats, I'm sure that Honda, Toyota, Chevy et al would be happy to increase their market share in the UK to what it is in the U.S. to fill the void. Wine from the States and South America is as good or better than 98% of French or Italian wines.

Will anyone really miss snails or sauerkraut?

Grandfather the people already in and working there. Maintain sensible immigration controls and let in people who will be productive and contribute.

As for any other dependencies on the EU, what has been done can be undone.

The EU has been sailing toward an economic iceberg for a long time now. Maybe Britain still remembers the Titanic and this time is taking evasive action.

How long before Germany wakes up and realizes that it is carrying a lot of freeloaders from Southern Europe?  I thought that they might after bailing out Greece but there has to be a tipping point soon when the weight of the PIGS continues to drag them down.  Sure, Germany benefits from a Euro that is lower because of the weak members, but at what cost?

Just MHO.

Yeah, I want to remodel my house.

Sure, burn the entire house down and start over from scratch but you are now broke, have nobody in your family who knows how to build a house or has the capabilities because all your family that have time on their hands are fat lazy slobs who live off the govt welfare system so why should they work to build a house. Normally you could bring in outside labour but, oh wait! You just ruled them out. In 20 years you can rebuild but in the meantime your life is ruined.

Great theory, just try living through it.

The UK government is terrible in its own right. Why assume politicians here are better than in Europe? They are all in it for themselves and couldn't care less about the "people". The tax system here is the most complicated and longest tax code in the world. It's impossible to understand. People who are unemployed are incapable of working because of their terrible education and lazy attitude ( I manage 45 persons and have 4 openings right now that I can't fill and this is in Manchester ) but the main argument about voting out was Immigrants are stealing jobs.  They are the ones that are working!

The UK government announced yesterday they need to employ thousands of people to fill jobs to negotiate trade, energy and immigration policies. Where are they going to find people with these skills? They don't exist here.

Imagine Texas suddenly deciding they were independent and EVERYTHING had to be managed by the state itself PLUS they didn't allow anybody from any other state in. It would take decades and endless money to build the systems of state. What if all the other states in th eu ion decided they didn't want to by goods from Texas since the same goods could be bought elsewhere for the same price? Oh and only 51 percent of Texans voted to leave.....

Revolution is a great theory usually supported by people that don't have to live through it, feel the pain, or pay for it. The wealthy people here in the UK that all pushed for Brexit aren't paying the price and never will. They will continue to live high on the hog whilst the rest of the economy slides into the toilet. Already announced interest rates are going to zero percent.

Yeah Trump is a real winner. A real honest self-made wonderful guy. What a brain,, what experience. Heck he even founded his own University and what an accomplishment....Oh wait....

The USA has a heck of a choice. Hillary the crook or Trump the crook. The best that American can produce. The cream of the crop. That's awesome......

Before anyone wants to ( rightly ask) what a guy in the UK has the right to comment on the USA for I will remind those who haven't met me over the past 16 years I was born and raised in Florida and moved to the UK 21 years ago with work. I hold two passports so have a foot in each camp and vote and pay taxes in both countries.

Of course none of this has anything to do with Ferraris so my apologies. The price of car parts from Europe are going through the roof due to the exchange rates and the fact the UK is a service economy, it doesn't make many things anymore. Everything is imported. The Ferrari hobby is going to get expensive.......
