Hmmm, I can hear the radiator fans come on and off while I'm driving my 308 (not just at rest). As much as I can believe the gauge on the dash, the needle stays rock steady just below the 90*C (195*F) mark. I've mentioned before I've had the rad re-cored
and have the proper thermostat/rad fan thermoswitch installed.
As a matter of fact, the worst area of my fuse boxes were the rad fan circuits. The clear boot protecting the quick connect on the wire was melted. I've since soldered all of the rivets and buss bars and it's made a huge difference to reducing the temperature
of all of the connections at the fuse boxes. I've experimented with success so far of an aftermarket ATC-type fuse box to replace these old ones and they were stone-cold to the touch after a long drive and quick track run this past weekend with outside temps
touching 90*F.

The rest of them are junk
If you own any car other than those I mentioned you are sitting on a near term
Chernobyl event one day with your car
For TR owners they need it more than most, the heat they put out is extreme
I was lucky that I routinely check and flush my radiators
But that didn't matter because they are cheaply made
And I had a failure early on and changed out one
But now that after market aluminum radii are available why would you take the chance?
