Hi
Guys I
have mentioned before I am an Area Group Organiser for the FOC here in the UK
(At least for a few more months until I move to
Stockholm). One
of our members is part of the design team at Marenello (I hide his name as he
doesn't want to get in trouble talking about work). This guy comes to a few
meetings a year when he can fly out of Italy to the UK. Owns a
328GTS. Anyway he sent me the email below. I remember all the comments about how good the J50 looked when they announced it so I asked the obvious question. Hadn't realised the answer was so obvious....
Japan has different rules....
Thought you may find this interesting
BR in the UK

Hi
Britt, The
biggest reason is homologation! The 488 and all Ferraris have to pass regs in
all countries. The J50 is only for Japan. The front crash beam is different and
there is something about the headlight position too. NXXX On

J50 is beautiful. Why do they save that design for a special edition ? Why
doesn't the normal car look like that? It's incredible and much nicer than the
488! Regards Britt
Hi
Britt, Thanks
for the update. With this being such a big year, I really must try and attend
more events both locally and nationally. Did you see the Ferrari J50 by the way.
Very proud of that one...especially given a short design time on
it. Wishing
you all the best for 2017 |
