Sad news about Preston Henn...

Which Bug are you having built? T35 or T37?

I was always intrigued with this replica, although I don't know if they're still being produced:

I'm having a replica Bugatti chassis built in Germany, the new stuff is much faster and more complicated than what I have already and what I need.  And I'm not playing the game.

Was at the GP of Alabama and there was an Enzo in the paddock with a sign of the specs including a current market value of $3.3 mio.

All I could think of is what a douchbag...

I never said anything about charisma, haha.

I've sorta copied others' criticism of the NSX's lack of charisma since it came out.

But as far as competence in handling it is a good car.

The irony is that as time passes, a car with a proper manual transmission and no driver aids becomes more and more valuable. An NSX is a pure driver's car compared to most of what is out now.

Original NSX was a legit car, just underrated for not having Ferrari panache.

New car is just capitalizing on current market of everyone making exotics...like Lexus with their LF-A.

Good point, how many more can PH buy before he joins Enzo?  I'll bet that he'll have some choice words for him about loyal customers but Ferrari stopped valuing them 30 or more years ago as soon as order books became perpetually filled and dealer lots got cleared. Well, except for the occasional "buy a 612 and move up the list" periods!

These days, get a dog if you want loyalty.

So if he has the money, refuses to at least get a chance to buy "the last" one and threatens to sue again and buy a competitor's car (which lets face it, is entry-level compared to the hyper-exotics he'd be more used to), then what's the moral to this story?

If it really is thin at the top, then why turn down such a good customer?

Should I dump my RACE shares then (before the s#!+ hits the fan)?

He is EVERYTHING that should get him an invite.  Participates in FXX   Buys first of everything.  Flips back to dealer. Etc.  He took it VERY personally.  He know a lot about how things "work" too.  I expect that he will upset that apple cart.

FWIW he couldn't bid on #500. He refused to attend the event even after getting a personal invite.

Money is nothing to Preston. He once owned must of the land that is now western ft Lauderdale.  His yearly income taxes are a matter of record - he got sued by Louis Vuitton because people were selling fake bags at his flea market - the guy makes tens of millions of dollars a year $32m in 2011 / $17m in 2012 - he joked that the $5.5M he paid Coach in a similar lawsuit was - and I quote - "pocket change" that's serious SteveJ kind of money. I'm sure he's not starving for cash. The final hammer price at $7M - which is A LOT (too much in my opinion) - was probably do-able for him. If he wanted one THAT BADLY (enough to drop a $1M cheque sight-unseen, prior to worldwide public debut) and if he didn't bid, then it's his loss.

I'm also sure Sergio isn't losing sleep over pissing him off.

Preston is one guy. There had to be plenty others who
