Even tho your red tornado is OBD 1, having the sensor there is to collect rudimentary temp data if the cat’s too hot. Too hot? Sensor sends you a blinking note. Just the exhaust gas sensor on a fighter? Anyhow – what would cause an overheating cat? The worst of the worst is a misfire. Or a series of misfires. Cylinder(s) is/are sending down a stoichiometric near perfect air to fuel charge which is ignited in the cat. Not too many of those will melt the substrate like a blow torch to honey comb – then it’s the old potato in the exhaust pipe syndrome – chuf chuf uhhhhh, quit. SO that said – check your ignition on the 1-6 side. Just a guess. Hard to diagnose a problem far away. WTF? Go drive car on a FCF run ( test drive for civilians) Got 2 minor flashes on the 1-6 bank that self-cleared never came back on Never seen anything like this ever. Anyway its in the hangar bay code one Oh yea how about the US NAVY bagging a SU-22 CLYDE In victory you deserve Champagne In defeat you need it!
