An obd1 car - 1995 and early 1996 had more power.  Emission standards hit in 96 
and the whole system was "upgraded" resulting in power loss 

As previously mentioned, headers and valve guides were a problem but should be 
addressed by now.  

There is a valve guide replacement but it is pricey and takes time and a good 
mechanic 

Header problem got better in later cars but the best solution seems to be the 
tubi header.  I've never heard of one failing the way the factory originals 
tend to do   But even a later factory header is probably ok. 

Fwiw, I've always had a hankering for a 95 when the challenge package was a 
dealer job. Some of those cars still have valid vins.  Would be a really cool 
street car with the straight pipes and that big carbon wing.
