Ha!, yep, you are so right.

The group I used to stay with every year at Concorso Italiano and the Monterey Historics included Chris Darling...  His wife would come but usually just looked down her nose and laughed at us 'boys' and all our car talk.   "Afterall", she would say "a car is merely something that gets you to the Jewelry Store".

At the end of the day, they're just cars. Anything else is just marketing hype.

Isn't that like saying the 365GTC/4 was no Daytona, which is what we all said in the 70's through the 2000s?  While C4 prices have gone up a lot in more recent years and it has finally been recognized as a pretty good car, it has been the red headed step child of Ferrari for nearly its entire 45 year history and is still far below Daytona price levels.

Then there is the Mondial, still the bottom of the Ferrari totem pole but still loved by some on this list. That was not well received by fans when introduced.

Lastly, there is the 308GT4 2+2, oh wait, that's not a Ferrari!  😉

Point being is that hardly any Ferraris are Daytona type quality.   All cars have gotten larger over the years. My 400i, considered a Ferrari behemoth in the 80's, looked positively dwarfed by my wife's Camry as well as by most modern Ferraris.

Hmmm.

Well, I recall the general disdain for the Daytona. The photos were not very appealing.

Lesson learned about Ferrari, perhaps it will be better to judge it in person?

Given the amount of regulations and the performance envelope these cars have, is it not surprising they have certain elements needed to help the car at the limit? (I ask because it is a worthy question, in my opinion.)

We have a dealership now in Panama so I will have to wander in and see it when it arrives here.

It's one thing when the Lambo guys talk s*** about the latest Ferrari's styling.

Pretty bad when it gets hate from inside the family.
