The original owner of my 400i way pro golfer and later CBS golf analyst Lanny Wadkins. While I thought that was cool, I didn't pay a penny more for that celebrity connection.

Then there is are the Rod Stewart and Keith Richards 400is that do command a 10x or more premium.

The poor Steve McQueen Lusso only fetched a 2X price a few years ago. Then again, the 1X price was 25x 400i prices but who's counting? 😉

My 308GTB has Mario Andretti's signature on the passenger door... and he rode in the passenger seat around an NZ race track.... should add $20 to the value! :)

To your question... provenance is important to high end cars, Ferrari's seemingly more than most.
In this example you are buying a Gilles Villeneuve collectable as well as a car.

For the life of me I don’t understand why a celebrity car would bring more than any other car
Can someone out there explain this phenomenon to me?
I mean I just don’t get it, am I missing something?
