Not just Porsche, there are several other brands that use variations of these Ate brake calipers (Mercedes, Volvo, etc), front and rear.

308 brake overhaul – Our 308 brakes are exactly the same as the Porsche 914 brakes – except for the differences. (ah ah ah).  Such as a spacer for the vented disc and the rears are mounted upside down.

 

Any way there is a fine company in Utah who will do a right fine job of properly overhauling them    http://www.pmbperformance.com/914-brakes.html

 

Not until the 328 did our little darts get real brakes.  The 308/914 brakes are ok for our 308’s to haul down a 3,500 (with driver) pound vehicle but the 914 weighs in a full 1,000 pounds lighter with nearly the same braking power.

 

Oh well – our cars are decidedly prettier.  I just can’t see Magnum P.I. jumping into a Porsche 914 2.0 and blasting off.  Nope.  No joy there.
