PROVA - hmmmm

Picture this - Nov 1968, Star Dust International Raceway - the last CanAm race 
of the season.  I'm filming up pit row at turn 1.  Turn one is a fast almost 
all out RH 30 degree turn.  Room for two cars at best.  Green flag drops and 
five cars go for it.  The Ferrari is punted off the track to the infield engine 
at red line - slide valve injection jammed.  McLaren loses his left fender - 
it’s a gang war.  I ended up with Bruce's right fender.

All the while the Ferrari is sitting out in the dirt.  I go to inspect it.  
PROVA MO sticker finds a new home.  That was given to Ferrari Willi.

Such was racing in the olden days.  Correct if I am wrong here - but I think a 
"PROVA" sticker gave whom ever had it free reign on the public highways.  At 
that time I am not sure if Ferrari had a test track or not.  But they did 
manage to test their race cars at speed.  Imagine getting on the autostrada and 
have a blood red Ferrari 350 CanAm go by you at 200 mph.

Ach - those were the days.

I always thought the ultimate Ferrari licence plate would read PROVA. Ever 
since I was  a kid I saw those pictures in magazines and books of the Ferraris 
being tested in Maranello, or even seen them myself in person leaving the 
factory with the word PROVA in the back. That would be the perfect plate for a 
Ferrari.

Well, since monday morning here in Quebec, we can have what we want for $250. 
cad plus $35./year.
I tried PROVA and it was turned down just a few minutes ago. I guess they don’t 
want the word TEST written on a plate. Just in case those simple minded cops 
got confused.
Tonight, I tried ENZO and it was already taken.
Then I tried FORZA and it was already taken.

What else is there ?
Mine already says 308-JLE. When I got the car in 2001 my mom said "308 Je L’ai 
Enfin”, which can be translated to "308 I finally have it”.

Well I tried!
