Harry Pellow – The Maestro (self-proclaimed) of Porsche 356’s.  An MIT graduate working with a nuclear company whose bid was not accepted went instead into micro details of Porsche 356 engines.  Some of his 356 engine books fetch well into the 200’s on eBay.

 

His crooked mind not stretched now went after the personalized plate.  Knowing California plates are made most likely in prisons Harry orders O0O0O0O.  That’s “oh-zero-oh-zero-oh-zero-oh.”  What he was counting on was the laziest plate maker just printing “0000000” which they did.  So here’s his car registered as O0O0O0O and the plate reads – well – see the picture.  He never got another parking ticket.

 

Harry’s mind didn’t stop there – he devised a Kalifornia Smog passing device.  Years ago Kalifornia smog test only required “an improvement” if you failed.  Harry’s “device” was a mashed spark plug – gar-an-teed to fail.  The deal?  Replace a good plug with a mashed plug – do the test and fail miserably.  The fix?  Go back home and replace the mashed plug with the old good plug, return for the re-test and PASS.   Taaa dahhh.

When I had a 911 Arizona denied CALL911 until I called the director of the dmv to point out that only SHERIFF, POLICE , and DIAL911 were restricted by statute.  

 

Of course, the public occasionally took that advice.

I always thought the ultimate Ferrari licence plate would read PROVA. Ever since I was  a kid I saw those pictures in magazines and books of the Ferraris being tested in Maranello, or even seen them myself in person leaving the factory with the word PROVA in the back. That would be the perfect plate for a Ferrari.

Well, since monday morning here in Quebec, we can have what we want for $250. cad plus $35./year.
I tried PROVA and it was turned down just a few minutes ago. I guess they don’t want the word TEST written on a plate. Just in case those simple minded cops got confused.
Tonight, I tried ENZO and it was already taken.
Then I tried FORZA and it was already taken.

What else is there ?
Mine already says 308-JLE. When I got the car in 2001 my mom said "308 Je L’ai Enfin”, which can be translated to "308 I finally have it”.

Well I tried!
