And to think the ‘glass cars were a stopgap to give the factory time to tool up for steel bodies! Peter Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Ferrari <ferrari-bounces+dino308gt4=hotmail.com [at] ferrarilist.com> on behalf of Peter Pless <ferrarilist [at] pless.com.au>

USA being an exception, I think. The edges are also not quite as sharp on the glass cars, but smoother. Apparently the guys in the UK LOVE our wet sump cars because of the lack of corrosion….so dry sump isn’t always where the money is. In fact, the biggest $$$ sales in Aus have been Aus
delivered wet sump AFAIK. From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+ferrarilist=pless.com.au [at] ferrarilist.com]
On Behalf Of Grahame Reinthal We have a about 50 here in Australia that we know of with about 1/3rd of these being dry sump versions. Vetro dry sump is where the money is. The only external visual difference
I’m aware of with the Vetros compared to the Steels is a tiny seam line at the top of the windscreen pillar (see picture). Otherwise, they look identical to the casual eye. Cheers, Grahame From: Ferrari <ferrari-bounces+grahame=reinthal.com.au [at] ferrarilist.com>
On Behalf Of Doug & Terri I have seen only one close up. What is really different is how the rear deck lid disconnects from the body. Open the deck lid. Look at the area where steel 308’s have three 13mm bolts and on the glass car there are only two. Pull out two long bolts (?) and slide the rear deck off of two projecting square
fingers. What else is different? Dunno. Cheers Doug From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+dnt=dock.net [at] ferrarilist.com]
On Behalf Of Peter Rychel Ahh, okay. Somehow I thought it was a glass car. Peter Sent from
Mail for Windows 10 From: Gary Reed <gary [at] garyreedsales.com> I saw David Schirmer recently. He's not in the NW club right now, but is considering rejoining and doing some drives. He still has his 1977 308 GTB, but it's not a fiberglass car. Cheers, Gary |
