Interesting comments and suggestions. Reading “Piloti...” I get the impression that Enzo is always on the defensive as many of his drivers wrote books about their careers/lives with him and it isn’t always painted lightly... I imagine that Brock Yates is quite frank about Enzo as well?

I remember reading Brock Yates' book many years ago. He had set out to put down every single accomplishment Ferrari had ever done and that's what he did.
This book I'm reading, is so much more interesting.
Yes there were times when he had no real competition. But that's only because all the others didn't reinvest every thing they had in their passion. Fiat turned him down, then Alfa Romeo turned him down when he was very young. Even Ford didn't understand
him. He decided to do it alone. He did one thing all his life: Built his passion, built racing cars.

Yup - yer correct there Francis. As I said - a very "Brock Yates" book. What would you expect from a guy who pushed the "Cannon Ball Baker Sea to Shining Sea" race (see "Sunday Driver") and disguised one of his blasto runs sea to sea as an ambulance? The shame of it all.
BUWHAhahahahahahahah

With respect Doug, Brock’s book is very fanciful with a load of complete inaccuracies including right at the beginning of the book the circumstances surrounding Enzo’s death.
It's a good read but not an historical exactitude.

This copy got a glowing review in the latest edition of the FCA Prancing Horse magazine, that I get the impression it is THE book on Enzo. I suppose so with a price tag of $6000 for a basic version...
