Actually, his father Laurence Stroll had a go-kart team here in Mont-Tremblant to start his son. Then he bought PRIMA RACING (or something like that) to get his son in F2 in Europe. Then, he bought a seat with Williams in F1 2 years ago. Now, with other investors, he bought Formula 1 team Force India last fall, which became RACING POINT and gave his son a seat. His rise through different levels of racing is very common in motor racing. Money will actually buy you a place with the best for a long time, but eventually it all ends very suddenly. The father wakes up one day and sees the investment isn’t worth it. In the case of Lance Stroll, I give him the benefit of the doubt….. so far. Even my favorite driver of all time, Niki Lauda, had to buy his way in, in the early 70s. Michael Savard (1981 308GTSi)
