If it’s an always outside car, then I think so. For mine that have been inside, even the oldest film still looks perfect.

 

The truck started to crack on the edges. If you leave it too long after that, it can get very difficult to remove cleanly. Obviously that risks the paint underneath with things you have to do to get the film off, so proactive removal in that case is probably a good idea.

Isn’t that a key point? I’ve heard about that too and even to the point, regardless of mileage and exposure, the film should be replaced after a certain period of time.

…I did replace the film after 8 years when it started to discolor and crack, but that truck is an “always outside” daily driver. On a garaged fun car the film will last longer than you, probably…
