Yes, as we all know, red and yellow cars go faster, and the cops know this too!

But apart from the revenue collectors, some colours seem to suit the lines of different models better than others. For example, it’s all subjective but I find the lines of  the 458 a bit boring in red.  Somehow that colour just doesn’t do the lines justice.  But I think it looks sensational in metallic blue, capturing the nuances of the curves, especially offset with a bit of carbon fibre here and there. Same with the 488.  575s also look great in blue, as opposed to red (less Supra-ish)!  In fact, a lot of 550s and 575s here in Australia seem to be grey or silver – subtle, definitely “not look at me”.

Actually, I try to encourage all new car buyers to spec up their cars (different colours, lots of extra stitching, carbon fibre everywhere, etcetera, etcetera) because of course, as we all know, this sort of stuff also makes them go faster! Selfishly, this also means that those of us who buy in the aftermarket get good stuff down the track at reasonable prices. Others can pay the crazy options prices and take the initial depreciation hit.

"resale red".... no....     "arrest me" Red

Actually, highway statistics say red is number 2, the most ticketed exotic car speeding color is Yellow.

All my cars are black.

Okay, guys, I know from a resale point, "resale red" is always a good color choice, but from a driving standpoint, do you guys find driving a red Ferrari gets too much attention (especially from the police/revenue collectors) versus other colors? Currently spec'ing a car, and I've got to admit I'm definitely finding myself drawn to red, but concerned it will get more attention than I'd like to attract.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions.
