Grahame notes “My Mercedes ML had lots of codes on the code reader – Mercedes dealer said they didn’t have a clue what it all meant – cleared the codes – end of story.” Picture this – in 2015 our local MB store took his normal delivery of X# of cars. Started the cars on the carrier, off loaded them and quickly parked them here and there as the tractor/trailer was parked in the middle of the street. Of about seven of new and taped up cars – three wouldn’t re-start. Fiddle fiddle fiddle – no joy. Called regional guru – still no joy. Re-flashed this and that – no joy. Called Germany – fiddled about then satellite (?) re-flashed the electrics. No-joy. Gave up – tomorrow is another day. The next day – ALL three cars started . . . first try . . . no added help . . . no reason for restarting w/o incident. I don’t know what the codes, if any, read. A fellow who remotely looked like Rod Serling was seen laughing by the pastries and coffee/espresso/latte/chocolate machine. Doug From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+dnt=dock.net [at] ferrarilist.com] On Behalf Of Grahame Reinthal Fault lights can be weird. I was driving from Sydney to Melbourne in the 599 (about a 900km trip). Got 150km into the trip and warning lights came on about catalysts overheating and it went into limp mode. Stopped, waited, restarted, still the same. Nearest Ferrari dealer back in Sydney, so rang them. Eventually, they suggested disconnecting the battery, wait a while then reconnect; easy to do because of battery isolator switch. Did so and all good again. Drove to Melbourne – dealer there put code reader on – said nothing really wrong so they cleared the codes. Been fine for over a year since! My Mercedes ML had lots of codes on the code reader – Mercedes dealer said they didn’t have a clue what it all meant – cleared the codes – end of story. Random electronics??? From: Ferrari <ferrari-bounces+grahame=reinthal.com.au [at] ferrarilist.com> On Behalf Of Charles Perry Obviously dogs and oranges, but my similar vintage Aston has had an airbag light on for ages. Had the code read at the dealer (they never could reproduce until I showed up to load it on my trailer to take it home) and it was a seatbelt pretensioner sensor fault. Just a data point for you that it could have nothing to do with airbags – a lot of safety-related stuff is balled up into that light, sort of like the CEL. -- charles From: Ferrari [mailto:ferrari-bounces+charles=carolinasound.com [at] ferrarilist.com] On Behalf Of Clarence Romero Jr. Guys any 599/612 owners on the list? Or for that matter anyone have a recurring passenger air bag warning light on there late model Ferrari ? Please get back with on any information on this
