I too switched from R12 and, under the promise of the tech guy who added a dye to the system, we’d find the problem. That was 1999. It leaked out. We never found the problem on the 308. I haven’t tried anything since. BUT – that said – the 1982 Porsche 911 SC was changed out along with the York compressor and THAT system was just fine. Sort of. Alas Doug From: Peter Rychel [mailto:dino308gt4 [at] hotmail.com] I’m aware of the pitfalls. I changed over to Duracool. It was good for a while, but it seems to have leaked out anyways. Peter Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Doug & Terri <dnt [at] dock.net> Peter – R134a conversion from R12? Careful – this aint a “drop in” fix. There’s a whole bunch a lot of DO’s and DON’T’s Good article posted by Hagerty: “Air-conditioning dos and don’ts: Refrigerants and the law” by Rob Siegel // May 07, 2018 Onward Doug |
