Newer cars are much heavier and the “noveau” owners use them like BMWs.

A 599 and 612 will get more stop and go than a TR or Countach ever did.

Driving technique is important too...

But you’ve owned old-school Ferraris where the clutches were overkill to begin with.

I believe you’ve mentioned it here before, but the 599 manuals have weak clutches... This 612 is the same generation, no? More than likely the same stuff inside. Probably just not stout enough for the HP & torque going through it.

I have Never replaced a clutch in a Ferrari that I have owned!
One of the main reasons I bought a F-1 is to see how long the clutch will last since all you see is cars with F-1 boxes getting them replaced

That’s $36K dealer pricing. I’m sure most of that work – especially the upholstery – can be pieced out to independents with lower overheads. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealer is doing that and stepping on the cost! It’d still end up being a five-figure bill.

Damn, 44K mi and the clutch is half-done. It’s hard to judge because everyone has different driving styles, but I guess even the modern manuals aren’t that great in longevity either.
