I'm about as rural as it gets. Your expectation is quite the opposite of reality. Since there are limited means of mass transportation and forget putting shoes on and walking... Kids, millennials are even more ensconced in their media devices.
While possible to get an Uber/Lyft into this area, pretty much impossible to get one to take you out of this area.
