Ferrari Ville - Then and Now

In the last 40 years the factory has become the Italian Disneyland.

Picture this – 1979 Tibor and I have just dropped off one of our co-travelers at the Ljubljana Airport in what is now Slovenia and asked ourselves – what now.  Easily answered – ROAD TRIP to Ferrari Factory.

Buzzing along a small road into Modena we round a gentle curve and POW – left hand side – a small round yellow sign with a prancing horse in front of a non-descript red brick building with “FERRARI” emblazoned across the front.  That’s all.  Place is empty except for a small guard  in a small office – national holiday.

Complete story’s been told before but this happened before some bean counters sat down with their Olivetti Logos 43 PD’s and determined they could make more money selling pencils with the FERRARI logo than they could selling cars – the factory blossomed. . . . and so did profits.

Ciao
