Matt:

This is a fun event in Old Town: https://scottsdalegalleries.com/ Happens every Thursday evening.

There’s a great restaurant I’ve enjoyed many times called AZ 88. It’s modern and different. The martinis are so full it’s an experience to watch the waiter bring it to your table as the surface tension barely keeps it from overflowing. Also if you like Thai, Malee's is a good alternative.

Enjoy, its a great town to just walk around.

Best,
Cody

All,

I'll be in Scottsdale for two nights later this week (Thurs/Fri nights). My
girlfriend will be in class during the day Friday and Saturday so I'll be
idle with a rental car. For those familiar with the area, what do you
recommend for:

i) Car stuff

ii) Dinner places (looking for something unique to the area, and it can be
a tourist trap or it can be that local place that tourists don't know about
but locals go)

iii) Running/hiking places where we can go at sunrise or sunset (I have
visions of seeing desert sunrises amongst the saguaro cactus (cacti?))

Thanks!

PS-From Scottsdale we'll be staying 2 nights at the rim of the Grand Canyon
(to include a run/hike into the canyon to the river, weather permitting),
2-3 nights at Zion in a cabin by the Zion Lodge in the park, and 2-3 nights
at the Oasis in Death Valley.
