Well, Doug, there is an old and now almost trite saying: There are old

Clyde and Rick: I was thinking of Bevo Howard or Scott Crossfield!

Heh heh - as Sterling Moss once said - "I've never gone into a corner scared
but have come out of plenty of them scared."
The SR71 pilot and motivational speaker who wrote the book "Sled Driver"
tells the tale - he plead to go up with the Blue Angles and ride back seat
while they practiced. He got to. Afterward, he remarked to driver - boy
some of those move were really close calls - you scared me twice. Pilot
replies - oh yeah? I scared myself three times!
: )
Cheers

Three most dangerous situations . . to pilots
1) out of energy
2) out of altitude
3) out of ideas

Doctors, sure, but lawyers are not far behind. When I was flying, lawyers
were always always arguing with the tower. One in particular, on approach in
the dark, argued about his altitude all the way into ground, killing his
whole family.

I respect all of you pilots I have a Ferrari buddy who is a flight
instructor and we flew in a small single engine airplane with another flight
instructor they let me fly the plane for like five minutes or so, even
though I?ve never had any formal instruction.
I?ve always wanted to fly and I felt pretty comfortable and I told the guy
sitting to my right hey I think I could land this, and he said I know you
could but probably not in one piece!
Rob
That said I landed the space shuttle at night on my phone....
