Porsche exotic?  Ney ney.

Its an engineering car.  Not an exotic.

So a long time ago Porsche was (and still is) a consulting firm.  Cars were/are secondary.

Porsche engineer/driver’s would sit down and with a clean piece of paper say – we are going to design the best engineered vehicle ever undt dis est vat it looks like.  Take or leave it (in down turned mouth arrogant High German – of course).

Ferrari’s road cars were ALWAYS exotic.  Kings, princes, industrial moguls and 20 would be customers would kneel at Enzo’s desk, and kiss his ring.  IF, and that was a BIG if, he liked you he MAY anoint you with a purchase chit to line up for a car.  Otherwise, here’s a nice yellow scarf.

So thems that designed the Ferrari road cars said We are going to design the MOST exotic, most bitchenist (in Italian of course) looking vehicle EVER and began pondering: where do we put the engine, spare tire, passenger, driver, fuel tank(s) . . . .

As It was before its like that today.

Of course – I could be wrong.

There is nothing exotic about a Porsche

Nothing!

There is no waiting list to buy them !

No nothing

If there is one spot in front of your favorite restaurant and you in a Ferrari and a Porsche shows up

You get the spot!

And they know it!

It’s what it is

Yeah, I don’t get the 911-pricing phenomenon.

Yes, they’re well-engineered cars, but they are not, by any stretch, “rare” or worth this price tag, no matter how much glitter you sprinkle over it.

Porsche proudly admits it, they’ve built a million of these since the ‘60s. ONE MILLION (and counting). They also claim that 70% of their vehicles are still on the road, so, about 700K give-or-take, 911s are still in use. This is like the Toyota Corolla of the exotic car world.

I’ll give them credit and if they sell them all, even more.

But I’ll pass. $378K can get me a garage full of easy-to-own, contemporary classics (heck, even an older 911!) and I’d be just as happy.

Nice looking car, but 388k? For a Porsche!  I'd rather have an 812 Super Fast for about the same money!!!
