Ferrari actually put out an instructional video of the (weeklong?) process.

Hardly anyone knew about it at the time.

IIRC from 20 years ago, part of the process was the original brackets 

inside the door the regulator mounted to had to be cut/ground off 

and new brackets welded in place. Problem was Ferrari wasn't going to

pay for repainting the outside of the doors, so the welding process had 

to be done very carefully so as not to ruin the paint.

Nice looking stance – BUT it’s Achilles Heel is it’s reverse gear set up.

The tooth cut drives the torqued gear against the retaining pin – not the stronger transmission case.

Seems OK as long as the driver doesn’t use GR when backing up.

GR?  Gorilla Reverse.

Depends how they “fixed” it. If they used all factory parts, probably will need doing again.

 

It was a weak point with these. I’ve also heard/read rear shocks fail on a regular basis.

 

Still though, I just love the look of these cars. I think I could live with and deal with those issues. Although I’d rather have the Euro version without airbags.

 

What type of OBD do these cars use?

Says window regulators replaced. Is that a permanent fix?
