I think he had to take the oil filter base assembly out. I didn’t ask but I had brought all the parts necessary, my mechanic does not mind if I bring all the parts, including the gasket for the oil filter base assembly and he used every thing I had brought. Only the wire for the oil light switch (this was still working but I thought I should change it too) came back. I guess he decided the old one was still good enough
I tested the headlights in daytime and I can see a huge difference.

That’s great. Really, anything will be better than your previous headlights.

That’s also great news about your oil pressure switch. I suppose he was able to remove and replace it without removing the oil filter base assembly?

Well I’ve made my decision. PHILIPS 6014 was my choice. I walked into a car parts store looking for male-female connectors and bang, right in front of me sitting on a shelf, 2 PHILIPS 6014 headlamps for $15.85 cad each. They looked exactly like the original. So, why not ? I know many of you suggested major upgrades, but at that price, what have I got to loose ?
I have had the car for 19 years, just hoping these new headlights last a<philips-6014.jpeg> few years.

On another subject, my mechanic changed the oil pressure switch. Remember ? I talked about not having oil pressure the last time I drove it last fall. It came back the first few times I drove it this spring and then no oil pressure again. Now all is fine.
