Yeah – thanks ClYdE Picture this – 1975 and I am at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, CA, as a young Army captain attending a meeting. After the meeting, and since my dad had been assigned there when I was born I wanted to poke about. In uniform no one bothered me having been raised by Ferrari Willi to go anywhere with authority no one will bother you, I went into a hanger – there it was – not the whole plane . . . just the “escape pod.” What a cool idea. Instead of going thru the roof or ejecting the canopy, a whole kernel of the fuselage ejected. It had vestigial wings for some sort of flight control. I don’t know how well the idea actually worked but it looked like a good idea. Anyone . . . . ? Cheers Doug From: Ferrari <ferrari-bounces+dnt=dock.net [at] ferrarilist.com> On Behalf Of Peter Rychel Awesome cLyDe. Thanks for passing along these videos to the ‘List, I always enjoy watching and learning from them (I also download them too).
