Speaking about “effect on valuation”, spending tens of thousands of dollars on personalisation of your Ferrari has been the ‘IN’ thing to do for many years. I’ve always thought that too much personalisation on a Ferrari would in the long term make it lose in value. For instance, I once saw a light purple with a white interior Testarossa. The only way I could buy (not that I have the money to buy it) that car, would be to get a HUGE discount so I could pay for the repaint and change the interior’s color. I just saw at an auction a Portofino with very bright red leather interior. All those personal gimmicks they pay for today will hurt the resale value in the long term in my opinion. What do you think ? Michael Savard (1981 308 GTSi)
