If you want to KNOW …

There is another show on, during Prime Time, called The Chase.  Jennings, Rutter, and Holzhauer take turns being the chaser.

They have plenty of interactions with all three - as the 2 that are not the chaser comment from a “green room” on the proceedings.

Of the three, Jennings seems the most comfortable and relatable.

I think Jennings has been great on Jeopardy.  The first couple of shows (which were probably all filmed on his first day on set in the MC chair) he seemed a bit uncomfortable, but has fallen right into it.  FWIW, when Ken gives the ‘correct’ answer - after the contestants fail to do so - I often get the feeling that he KNEW and that he didn’t;t just read the answer off card.  In fact, he often adds little ’tidbits’ of trivia that support the idea that he KNOWS.

I have wanted to be on Jeopardy most of my adult life.  If I ever make it, unless it is like the Cliff Clavin episode on Cheers - and all the questions are about cars - it will be a short stay!

Peace all

Scottie

PS - HBD Mr. Ferrari - but for you and your cars I wouldn’t have this really cool group of friends.

GP, good point on Rutter. I think he would have been better onscreen.

Ken is doing a fine job though.

How would James Holzhauer do? Might be a bit dry...

That Figure Skating Final answer the other night was obscure.

We, in this household, agree.  IMHO - There are only three people on the planet successful enough at the game to be a suitable replacement for Alex Trebek.  Brad Rutter might have a better personality to host a show like that, but that's very subjective.  What is undisputed is that Ken Jennings has won more Jeopardy! games than anyone, so is perhaps best suited for the role.  We hope he stays on, too.  (though they do have a number of other "guest hosts" to work through before the final decision is made....)

p.s. - I think I also swept the category, though to be honest, the Ferrari question is the only one I remember.  And of course I blurted the answer out almost immediately.  That's got to be a tough part of the game - not just blurting an answer out and being able to focus on ringing in at just the right moment.  Didn't one of the players actually get it wrong first??

He?s a good fit for the role.

I?ve been watching for years and with the inevitability of Alex?s passing, I was accepting of a new person to take on the task. As far as I?m concerned, he can stay on as host. If they decide to replace him ? woman or man ? I?ll be cool with that as well.

Peter

P.S. I was a clean sweep in the car category ? Rarely can I do that!
