Biology.Traditionally, stick and rudder guys (HOTAS) have the stick (or cyclic in Helos) in their right hand.In a rotary wing aircraft you have to use the left hand too. So most, not all, opt to keep the stick in the right hand and the use the left hand for the collective/throttle. In "lesser" models, there is only one collective between the seats. So unless you want to face backwards, you sit in the right seat.As one of my brother's instructors said... cuz it was designed by the Brits.(I have not idea who designed the control layouts, so I don't know if that is true or just the Army's way of shutting people up)_________________________________________________________________On Saturday, March 6, 2021, 7:04:54 AM PST, Douglas Anderson <dnt [at] dock.net> wrote:_________________________________________________________________Helicopter crew placement question – why does the pilot sit on the right side instead of traditional left?
