With my Borla on my GT4, there are two inlets, feeding in on opposite sides of the muffler can. The outlets follow their respective path from the inlets. Peering inside with my borescope, it’s just perforated tubing with some sort of substrate inside (probably stainless mesh. I don’t think it’s fiberglass matting as that usually blows out after years of use like a glass pack). What I do notice is that when I start it up from cold, the condensation cloud is stronger on one side than the other (left hand in this case). I figured the stronger cloud is the longer run (front bank), where the exhaust has had time to cool down and condense more moisture from the air. It’s also the exhaust tip that has darker soot than the other one. On US with 4 exhaust tips should you feel the same pulsations on both sides? |
