The street circuit must have been a lot of fun back in the day.

I haven’t been in a 60s era car on track but I sorta combined all of Rick’s stories into one.

One year, I was hungover myself and rode with Christi Edelbrock in her GT350 race car from the track through the town.

The crowds loved the noise...

Yeah, you don't want to be here during the NASCAR week.  We don't see too much where I am but Watkins is a madhouse.  I can actually hear the race from my house.  I also know when there is wreck because the medivac helicopter goes over our area.

Running the full track (with the boot) was tricky in a heavy 60s era car.

On the small roadways, even with our small event, traffic was murder.  I can't imagine what it was like when F1 ran there... or for that matter, NASCRAP.

PS: riding to the track with a hungover Vic Edelbrock in a rental min-van was a real white knuckle exercise too...
