I have only spoken to him a few times...mostly at the Monterey auctions after hours.
Assume you mean the Dekon Monza?
Neat car... On May 13, 2021, at 13:56, Rick Moseley <ramosel [at] pacbell.net> wrote:
He won't admit it, but the Posey car has always been his favorite.... well, TransAM car. The little IMSA Monza puts the biggest smiles on his face.

No, I was there first in 2008 and Christi told me she had to take it easy in town. I'm sure because of the burnout in 2007.
The fun started up the hill with a C2 Corvette that was in front of us.
Kenny had the Lime '70 Challenger back then...maybe some more stuff too.

Were you there the year (2007?) Jimmy Hague did an incredible 1/8mile burnout during the parade and got chased by the cops all the way back to the track? Can't remember which car it was... one of Kenny Epsman's. Probably the Penske Sunoco Camaro
Yeah, they liked the noise... to a point.
Jimmy got booted from the event so we hung out at a pizza joint just outside the track (while Carl drove our car) and listened to stories being told by other patrons who had no idea the "guilty culprit" they were talking about was sitting with them. Keeping a straight face required lots of beer.

The street circuit must have been a lot of fun back in the day.
I haven’t been in a 60s era car on track but I sorta combined all of Rick’s stories into one.
One year, I was hungover myself and rode with Christi Edelbrock in her GT350 race car from the track through the town.
The crowds loved the noise...

Yeah, you don't want to be here during the NASCAR week. We don't see too much where I am but Watkins is a madhouse. I can actually hear the race from my house. I also know when there is wreck because the medivac helicopter goes over our area.
When I was still involved with Historic TransAM, we ran The Glen a few times. It's a beautiful area of the country. Running the full track (with the boot) was tricky in a heavy 60s era car.
On the small roadways, even with our small event, traffic was murder. I can't imagine what it was like when F1 ran there... or for that matter, NASCRAP.
PS: riding to the track with a hungover Vic Edelbrock in a rental min-van was a real white knuckle exercise too...
If only they still held F1 races here. I am literally 30 minutes from the track. I wish I could but I am organizing an FCA rally in the Mid Atlantic Region that weekend.
Why not come down for one this season?
The Glen is a magical place!
