I know that alcohol helps my performance😂..... And I've also watched a vehicle pass with flying colors after dumping a couple gallons of isopropyl alcohol in a mostly drained tank....

I’ve heard the same over the years…. Never seen it, but heard it from viable sources. 

I’m sure Herr Doktor Chemist will correct me if wrong, but methyl hydrate is methanol.   Should be easy to obtain.

Specifically, methyl hydrate is what we’d use.

 

You don’t need much. A friend had a Datsun 510 race car which he still ran on the street (pretty hot with cam, twin Mikunis, etc) and when it came time to run it through, he poured several bottles (bottle = 1L [or more than a quart]) in the tank. When he got in the station and they tested it, it passed TOO well! They had to stop the station and calibrate the sniffers because they thought something broke or got clogged. Passed with flying colors again. They gave him his results with a “funny” look on their faces. He certainly had a funny look on his face when he left.

I've heard stories about dumping some alcohol (no, not tequila.....)
in the tank to help pass emissions.  I have had no reason to try it,
so can't personally confirm if it works.  Sort of like the E-10 or
E-15 gas served at most pumps, except you'd be making homemade E-50,
or whatever.  Perhaps someone here has done it.

Drive it home (assuming it actually works...) and drain it.  Or dilute
it with more gasoline.
