I saw the video for this on Youtube some time ago and then I get the email notice from Ferraris-Online the other day:

This was a 328 I was considering buying several months ago. I got the Carfax (which has long since expired, but I have a printed copy) and was a bit suspicious of the lack of history through it’s life when the car came to the U.S. and how it suddenly stopped in... 2006. It was for sale for the longest time at Aventura Motors in Southampton, New York (listed at $59,995 USD). Oddly, the ad is still up on Classiccars.com (which from what I can tell, there are a lot of scam ads I’ve found there):

When it was for sale in New York, the pictures were quite telling and it appeared to be in a well-used condition – seats were flat and looked like the foam collapsed inside, very dirty interior, missing rear DOT marker light, incorrect third center stop light (not the correct Ferrari spec part), front passenger headlight not sitting flush with the bodywork (and still to this day).

The biggest draw for me to this car was the color. Although “prugna” doesn’t roll off the tongue, it’s absolutely stunning in person, especially during the “golden hour” at dusk. There were just too many unknows and a lack of description with the vendor that steered me away. It’ll be interesting if the Sheehan’s can move it (probably will).
