I have given it thought, but I’m concerned about passenger comfort. I’ve given several rides and everyone finds that the car is REALLY low (mind you, all of these people have been used to tall, SUV vehicles where you step up to, not fall into).

 

I’m thinking more behind the driver’s seat. I’m not tall and have the seat fairly far forward, so there’s plenty of room. I don’t think I’ll ever have people in the back seat.

In the 308 I use one of the (old) brackets that mounts the extinguisher under the front seat bolts of the passenger seat.   Could you fab one up for the Mondi?

I’m really surprised Halon is not permitted. I’ve got one in my 308 and would like to get one for my Mondial, but I haven’t figured out a good place to mount it (at least in my 308, I have it right beside the driver’s seat, but that’s where the handbrake is in the Mondi).

Hi guys,

My insurance company here in Sweden requires a foam 2kg fire extinguisher in the car. I’m am having trouble finding one. Powder yes. Foam no. ( Halon not permitted here as far as I can tell).

What’s the deal with foam vs powder? I seem to remember powder being bad for cleanup. I know this topic came up a few months ago but I can’t find the discussion. What’s the difference between the two? ( May have to call insurance company and see if powder is acceptable).
