How about the issue that
defroster hoses on the old transport truck from the blower motor to the dash vents
had long ago disintegrated? If you're living in SoCal, no big deal. I mean, how often would you really need them?
But if you're driving in the Pacific Northwet (or more commonly known as "Fungus Corner") in December, it suddenly
becomes a priority. But we didn't become aware of the situation until well after dark in northern California or southern
Oregon. Our "MacGyver" solution? Stopped at store and bought cans of Sterno and lit them and set them on the dash!
I wonder what that looked to other motorists?
Can the travelers put a candle in the window like the people waiting at home for them do?

I worked for Mike from 1990 to 1993. I gave many shop tours to visitors so it’s quite possible we’ve met.

By the way, that restaurant you guys visited still exist to this day, but they’re just called “The Keg” today. I have one not that far from me here in Langley.
They’re okay, but I can cook up a way better steak than them (I only use charcoal for that real flavor)...

...before the long trip back, but he was taking us out for a steak dinner first! He said it was great place and we'd love the steaks.
"It's called the Leg of the Beaver" he said with a chuckle. Gary and I looked at each other with surprised looks on our faces.
Once we pulled up to the restaurant, I was curious to see the place. The sign said The Keg and Cleaver. "Um, hey Bob...?"
He was laughing his ass off. "I try to have a little fun with the touirists." he said.
Sorry to hear of his passing.
