Although an "amorphous" solid, glass is crystalline in nature.
So it likes to be cut in straight lines.
Circles are stress inducing.
Some cut glass circles are bulletproof.
Some cut glass circles crack if you look at them funny.
I wasn't PO'd that they broke the original, feces occurs.
Considering how many times it was probably "tapped" in it's life, I'm surprised how long it lasted.
Keegan dug a dead clock out of some box and handed it to me, I carefully slipped the ring and glass off and promptly dropped the glass on the floor. Nada, no damage, it was fine
I sent it to Palo Alto and got my clock back, fixed for free.
Been working ever since.
I was down in that area at Stanford for medical reasons and went by the shop. Like 3 blocks away.
I took the two guys who were there out to lunch.
Guilt assuaged. Goodwill earned.

Heard mixed reviews. Some horror stories, some swear by them. Probably an employee issue.

The chrome bezel is crimped around the housing and the face holding them together.I would rather leave that to a professional.

Subject: [Ferrari] Trouble with car clock (1981 308 GTSi)I’ve had the car for 20 years now and was always proud to say to my friends that even the clock still works.
I changed the glass once at a huge cost but that’s it.
It works still, but now my little knob(?) to adjust the time does not work anymore. It just turns and turns and the hands don’t move. If it means sending it away again, I’ll just leave it as it is
Do you think this is fixable by myself ? Any advice ?
