Friends, Here is the link to the thread showing all the work that was done on a GT4 I got from Al. Since it's brothers to my other car 409 & 410 I would probably never sell it, but like any other old car I’m not sure I live long enough to sort out all the issues with it. First off it turns out that the engine was replaced in Italy before was imported into the United States which is kind of a big deal. I was trying to figure out what happened and see if Ferrari actually replaced it as part of a warranty claim, but I think the trail is cold on that one. Engine is a very early GT4 engine # not sure what that means. Al was a nice enough guy, and Brian and all his team did a good job, but I think to get it done perfectly would've cost another hundred thousand, which I did not have. Al is dropped off the radar and won't answer phone calls or emails from me. He was a fair and decent guy at least to me, as he took the car back to Florida and fix a bunch of issues I had. It's hard to take a car completely apart and put it back together without having problems even at Pebble Beach you see it. I did find out it was owned by several interesting Italians the last being a chef in Venice. As to that other car 10688, that was owned by a southern California gt4 buddy of mine Dom Vittella. He took pretty good care of it. I am also shocked at the paint they did on there. I can't believe any reputable paint shop would paint a Ferrari like that………. As for the rust, on these old Ferrari’s, you can't drive them in the rain, park them outside, or wash them with the hose…. PERIOD. Any car that never had any of the above will have very little rust. Any car that was treated to all the above will have rust all over, that's just a nature of the beast. Rob I'm glad these cars are getting a bit of respect I wrote a long letter to Cavallino complaining About the price section on this model hopefully they'll start being more realistic, but I doubt it. ![]()
