I always thought of them as fragile and not very refined.

I had only driven a poorly maintained SE about 20 years ago.

Now, they are being properly cared for (with values rising) and it is easier to experience really good ones.

I have spent many hours in the last year in three different 80s G Body's and they are very impressive.

The engine which was always rumoured to be overstressed and thrashy is actually superbly balanced and really torquey. No turbo lag at all.

That and 1150kg at the curb makes for quite the driving experience...
