Are you talking about the “mouse trap” motorized seat belts? It seems – just like with Ferrari models from this era as well – that Canadian and Euro market cars didn’t have that. Also the Japanese market (and there’s lots of them here). I don’t blame you for converting. I wouldn’t be surprised that when you take yours out, you’d probably find “AC Delco” written all over the parts.

 

Thanks for that info... I’ll keep my eye out for those chassis numbers.

The Eight was built to a price point, they took out some of the details on the interior.  Sold a bunch more, but part of that was it was just on the market longer. They merged both models into the Brooklands in 1992.

 

The real sweet spot is a s/n in the 20000 range (1988-1989). Those give the most sorted/least complex of the run.  Only thing I don’t like on mine is the power seat belts, but I’ve got it on my list to do a conversion to a European set up at some point. But if you just pull a fuse, they stay in place and you don’t need to worry about the system breaking.

(It’s unfortunate, but this was one of two F-Ns that were delivered new to Canada and this car spent it’s entire [80+ years] life here in British Columbia. When the owner passed away, it got sold off back to the UK)

Mulsanne S.  Only down 60 hp in it to the Turbo R without any of the headaches of the early Turbos warping the heads.  It does have all of the suspension upgrades that the Turbo had.  Great car.  It's ex-Peter Cullen.
