And that was only 20 years ago. For the record, I won't be racing Jesus or his disciples. My ego is not that in need of affirmation. I'm just saying that this kid, who is an Ivy engineering grad that designed, built and raced his car would probably toast you in this Tesla. Ironically, he probably wouldn't race you or Clyde either. He might be tempted but then my kid would talk him out of it because he would feel bad for you. Then they would have a good laugh.

I was part of the crew that won the 2001 North American Ferrari Challenge team title, but I’ll defer to your expertise as I’m obviously way under qualified on vehicle dynamics. On Jan 6, 2022, at 6:36 AM, Anthony Bauco <tbauco [at] gmail.com> wrote:Well, given that none of you are Michael Schumacher, that 0.1g is a big deal. All of the people I know who own Teslas are engineers, not rappers or drug dealers or even finance douches with buttery soft hands. One of them raced cars competitively. Given that he is in his mid-20s, I would put my money on him in a Plaid over you old guys in a 575.On Thu, Jan 6, 2022, 8:23 AM Erik Nielsen <judge4re [at] gmail.com> wrote:That 0.1g in a car is just the difference in capability of the car, has nothing to do with the operator exceeding the mechanical limits. Copart is full of examples of a highly capable vehicles being operated by someone who ran out of talent, space and time simultaneously. On Jan 6, 2022, at 6:15 AM, Anthony Bauco <tbauco [at] gmail.com> wrote:Oh Clyde. In a plane, 0.1g just means a slightly higher turning radius. In a car, it means you end up in a guard rail or ditch and the other guy doesn't. That is a big difference in a car.If you think the team of engineers that built a 1000HP electric car can't sort out the aero needed between 160MPH and 200MPH, you are in for a rude awakening. When they get it fully tested, it will show up on the cars and they will go 200. Then you won't catch it because you will probably never find a straight long enough. And that is probably for the best because you shouldn't be doing 200MPH. You ain't a spring chicken anymore._________________________________________________________________On Thu, Jan 6, 2022, 6:19 AM Clarence Romero Jr. <clyderomerof4 [at] gmail.com> wrote:Oh yea one more thing TonySince the only thing you know about “Gs” is what you readIt’s only .1 of a G which isn’t anything a good ride at Disney World pulls more Gs.But hey you wouldn’t know anything about Gs since you have live your adult life on the ground !RF4-4EVR

But you probably knew that, right? It has a 0-60 of 2.1s and does the quarter mile in 9.4s. The 575 does 0-60 in 4.2s and the quarter mile in 12.3s. So, while you are running away from the inevitable while racing a Tesla, you will spend a lot of time seeing its rear end. When it hits its governor, then you will pass it. But it will already be going 151MPH at the 1/4 mile mark and the 575 takes 1/2 mile and 20.1s to get to 150MPH. It takes 1 mile and 31.4s to get to 166MPH. It will take a quite a while before you catch it. Hopefully you don't encounter corners before then because the Tesla pulls 1.02g while the 575 pulls 0.92g. But, hey, when you need to brake before he does, at least you will have the better brakes.Make no mistake, it can do 200 or damn close. They are probably governing it due to the brake and/or high speed stability issues. When they are comfortable with the solutions, they will probably offer an upgrade package including a software update. So, yeah, it has issues. But it also cost half what the 575 did new and 3X less than the 575's price in 2022 money. To some people, a Ferrari isn't worth 3X more. To some it is. I only care about what I think.Always trying to crap on other people's choices or preferences or achievements is not a good look. Enjoy your nice leather seats and superior paint job and stop worrying about who or what is chasing you. It rarely seems to work out.<insert pilot jargon here>On Wed, Jan 5, 2022, 9:15 PM Clarence Romero Jr. <clyderomerof4 [at] gmail.com> wrote:Page 57_________________________________________________________________Plaid Tesla top speed 162That’s itQuote “plaid can’t get anywhere near 200mph claim!”I would crush it in my 575!Clyde RomeroIf you have no enemiesYou have no character !Scars are tattoos with better stories! When you're out of F-4's you're out of fighters!
