And that’s the way to do it Rob. Offset one with the other. One of my engineer friends had mentioned that anything fixed to the ground would benefit with renewable energy sources. Anything the moves (cars/trains/planes), fossil fuels are still the optimum choice. I’ve said it multiple times before, but the best energy storage device humans created is gasoline. Do you store the energy your panels produce? It’s not just you guys, but most jurisdictions want to charge the home-owner for feeding the power back into the grid. I don’t want to put my conspiracy hat on, but the guv’mint can stuff themselves in regards to that. If you have a bank of batteries that you can store all of that energy in, you don’t need their system. Or, just passively and run it parallel to supplement their input. At one time when pot was illegal, you could run your lights and fans off of a solar system, that way your electric bill wouldn’t look too suspicious. But, you folks are lucky as you’re blessed with sunshine for hundreds of days out of the year. Up here, ehhh, not so much... Pete P.S. I haven’t gone as far as you, but I recycle every last piece of paper and plastic products, glass jars/bottles, pop/beer cans and waste food (for municipal composting/energy conversion). I’m lucky if I put one small bag of pure garbage out by the curb every four weeks. Sent from Mail for Windows From: Robert Garven All, I had 8 panels on my garage that generated my entire electrical consumption, we added a hot tub so we added 12 newer panels which will now generate 3 times my yearly usage. My sister and BIL built dragster parts and with 50 panels ran a
4 person machine shop with 2 CNC machines. Their place burnt down during a massive fire caused by our electrical company's wires 4 years ago. If everyone in the country had panels at least it would be a start! The newer panels are more efficient than the other
ones. Of course I bought the best ones I could afford just like the Ferrari! We are fighting now as the CA PUC wants to charge $60 a month just to connect to the grid and supply them clean energy which they pay pennies on the dollar for our excess generation…. Thats one of my ways of justifying my pollution from the Ferrari by trying to help out around the edges. Rob Have to generate power to run the lights!!!!
