20 years ago there was a real Shelby Mustang convertible, sorta brownish, and a daily, looked like it, driver.  No Sunday driver only this was.  License plate:  NT4SALE

It’s still listed in the Vehicle Emission History   https://www.bar.ca.gov/services/vehicle/pubtstqry.aspx

Surprising since just about the time the car got tested, 1997, the BAR eventually upped the test cut off my from everything to MY 1975.  Really screwed over the 1975 Porsche 914.  Why?  Because there were no 1975 914s made in 1975.  Last one made was Dec 31 (or so) 1974 as MY 75.

There’s a story there – but that’s why Porsche ended up with a one year 912E four cylinder car.  The remaining 4 cylinder 914 engines were placed in a 911 and sold as a 912 einspritz; Injection.

Cheers

Doug

The plate was seen at the Long Beach Grand Prix this September on a yellow Carrera GT.

Looks like the registration expired in 2019!

Clever.

1982, Kalifornia now allows up to seven digits.  The most requested plate?  PORSCHE.

Lottery held and a 20 something fellow a (gulp) Toyota truck owner won it.  “well, one of these days I’ll get a Porsche.”

Last time I saw the plate it was on a 1960’s 356 silver Porsche Carrera 2.  Four cam engine took over 100 hours to put together.
