cLyDe, I really like you. We’re all good friends here on this ‘List and I really want to meet you guys one day and we can all sit around, shoot the shit and drink lots of beer. I mean lots. But I gotta say, you’re following the same trap. You’re going to pay MSRP and buy whatever options they’re going to coerce you into getting when you configure your 296 (because you can’t walk into of a Ferrari dealership and just buy a plain-Jane car. They’re going to make you drop five figures worth on “personalizations” no matter what your status is with them). You’re making all the mistakes. You’re buying at full price AND a first-year model release – you’re going to do the R&D for them. New models are always going to be the most expensive to insure so again, you’re paying top dollar. It don’t matter that they offer 7 years maintenance, because they’ll always get you for “little things” that they find when they’re underneath it (my buddy is BTDT with his GTC4 Lusso). Don’t get me wrong, these latest Ferraris are really cool and within a heartbeat I’d get a Roma. BUT, only if I win the lottery, because that would be “free” money to me. I definitely wouldn’t buy one with my own, hard-earned bucks. Peter P.S. I mean, I’m saying all of this and I bought a Mondial. With the 348 motor in it. From an official dealer... P.S.S. Me when I see a Roma:
Sent from Mail for Windows From: Clarence Romero Jr. Back in 1988 these were going for over list So someone paid at least $200k for this possibly more ( Brian K would know) Insured it for 34 years let’s just say for what $2 k a year That’s $68k odds and ends at what over 34 years at least $15k So we are looking at $283k in then year dollars Let’s see what this bomb brings because you can’t drive it without going thru it totally and having owned one for 24 years I know WTF I am talking about I can’t believe people who has that type of money back then would do this Incredible https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-ferrari-testarossa-33/
